Wan Shi Ru Yi
Wan Shi Ru Yi
Beijing is one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Last year, while I was there for work, I decided to explore the city on my last day. The bustling streets were alive with energy, and the tempting fragrance of hot pot curry filled the air.
Despite the heat, I kept walking and stumbled upon a charming antique store, tucked away in a corner and easy to miss.
The shop was vibrant, with shades of red and gold dominating the shelves. Amidst the treasures, a beautiful key ring caught my eye.
Though I couldn’t decipher the engraving on it, I knew it would make a stunning piece of jewelry. I imagined pairing it with pink lava beads to enhance its rustic gold vibe.
When the shopkeeper noticed my interest, he asked what I planned to do with the keyring. “I will create a piece of jewelry with it,” I replied.
“Ah, you are a jewelry designer,” he asked with a hint of surprise.
“No, it’s just a hobby, but I love doing it,” I said.
“Wanshi ruyi,” the shopkeeper said as he moved on to another customer.
Curious, I quickly used a translation app to find out what it meant: “May all your wishes come true.”
And that’s the story behind this unique piece. It’s a reminder of my adventure in Beijing and the unexpected find that turned into a cherished piece of jewelry. 🌟
